An acquaintance of mine recently made an acquisition. From his Facebook post:

10 years ago my college advisor told me “C Students” don’t go to law school. This was some of the best advice I have ever received.

So, I hope that “C” students see this and get inspired to work hard in life, but that “A” students don’t see this as a good reason not to try so hard...

I get that - every kid is different. There are C students that work their ass off to get Cs, and there are C students that don’t care much and are happy with Cs. There are A students that work their ass off to get As, and there are A students that get As without working hard at all.

In my first comment, I was thinking especially of the C students that try hard but only end up getting Cs despite their best efforts - that they shouldn’t be discouraged - “ l abor omnia vincit”.

I lived with a guy in college (1 of 5 in a house) that claimed a degree was just a piece of paper. He was convinced that he had enough business savvy and street smarts that he didn’t have to finish school to be successful . Ended up working at a local bar full time. Not sure what ever happened to him but I know he’s not driving a Ferrari .
